Child & Teen BMI Percentile (CDC, 2–20 yrs)

Calculates a child's BMI and its percentile for age and sex using the CDC growth reference — the right way to read BMI in children and teens.

Awaiting clinical review. Results are based on validated formulas but pending physician verification.

How this is calculated

BMI = weight (kg) ÷ height (m)². The CDC L, M, S parameters for the child's age and sex convert BMI to a z-score (z = ((BMI/M)^L − 1)/(L·S)) and then a percentile via the normal distribution.
